Programs & School Talks *

Our Mission is to change the trajectory for young people by shifting from reactive support to proactive education that strengthens self-worth, body respect, and healthy relationships with food.

Our Why is deeply personal. Having lived through eating disorders ourselves and now working as health professionals in this area, we see the same patterns repeating, young people struggling earlier and earlier, often starting at school. Without the tools to navigate societal pressures, comparison, emotions, relationships, and perfectionism, many young people are left vulnerable to negative body image and eating disorders. We exist to interrupt this cycle before it takes hold.

Our What We deliver talks and workshops that truly connect with students, blending relatable stories with expert insight on health, mindset, and body image. Our sessions cut through the noise, helping young people understand themselves and their choices in a way that sticks. Grounded in evidence and empathy, each program inspires real conversation, lasting awareness, and a stronger culture of wellbeing across your school.

Focused Group

Our 6–8 week body image and nourished eating support program offers students a safe, compassionate space to understand the pressures that shape how they see themselves and their relationship with food. Across the term, we guide students through age-appropriate conversations about body image ideals, social media influence, perfectionism, comparison, and the early signs of disordered eating. Through practical tools, reflective activities, and gentle education, students learn how to challenge unhelpful thoughts, build body respect, understand the role of food and nutrition without fear, and recognise when to seek support. This small-group environment allows students to feel seen and understood while building healthier, more empowered mindsets that protect long-term wellbeing.

Parent Evenings

Parents play a crucial role in helping their children navigate life and are a huge protective factor. This evening is designed to educate and equip parents with an understanding of early warning signs, how to foster a healthy home environment around food and body image, the language that supports wellbeing (and what to avoid), and time for an open Q&A.

Staff training

Staff, teachers, and counsellors are often the first to notice when a young person is struggling. This training equips school professionals with the understanding, language, and practical strategies needed to identify early warning signs, respond effectively, support healthy relationships with food and body image, and create environments that protect student well being.

  • Ben - Deputy Principal

Nourishing Minds delivered an engaging and meaningful presentation to our Year 5 and 6 students on resilience and self-worth. Their approachable and enthusiastic presenters captured the students’ attention from the very start, using audience participation to make the session both interactive and impactful.

It was clear throughout that they have a genuine passion for supporting young people to build confidence and develop a strong sense of self. Student feedback was positive, highlighting the focus on “being you” as a driving factor for change. Highly recommend

  • Joel - Wellbeing officer

Jess and Ellen from NMB delivered an engaging presentation complete with audience participation and lived experience from their own journeys.

Both an informative and insightful approach to pressures around body image affecting so many younger Australians, we have no hesitation in recommending Jess and Ellen to other schools/community groups.

  • Elice - Guidance Officer

Your presentation was impactful. You made students aware that they are born worthy - this alone is so powerful. You delivered a message that was insightful and necessary for our cohort of students.

You presented the information so enthusiastically that you were a joy to watch. Thank you so much for your time, energy and commitment. I hope we will have many more interactions with you at our school.

  • Georgia - Wellbeing Officer

We also had Jess share her story of hope through a parent seminar evening. Jess’ genuineness, matched with her expertise, allowed parents to feel safe enough to ask vulnerable questions as to how they can best support their children.

We highly recommend Jess Dyson to any school seeking to gain insight on body image and eating disorders. Her partnering of personal experience, professional knowledge, faith and a therapeutic lens provided a memorable event for all who were able to hear her presentation.

  • Emily - School Guidance Officer

Jess delivered a fantastic presentation to our year 8 female students.  The girls engaged with the content and all Jess’s material was relevant and age appropriate.

Jess has a very warm and authentic way of connecting with students, bringing her incredible wisdom and experience into the room.  I would not hesitate to recommend Jess to any school who wanted to bring awareness and educate their students on this important topic.

  • Imogen - Senior Learning Community College Counsellor

As part of our Social and Emotional Learning program in 2023/4, we invited Jess Dyson from Redefined Coaching to speak to our Year 10–12 students on the topic of body image. Her presentation was highly relevant and thoughtfully constructed, incorporating age-appropriate examples and impactful stories. Jess skilfully addressed how body image concerns can subtly influence our thoughts and behaviours, and provided practical strategies to identify and manage these issues in healthy, constructive ways, and offered clear pathways for seeking help and support, promoting a culture of empathy, understanding, and hope. Jess presents with authenticity, professionalism, and deep insight.

I would not hesitate to recommend Jess or any of the Redefined Coaching team to any school or organisation seeking to support young people in navigating body image and eating disorder issues. Their presentations would be equally valuable to younger students, particularly those in Years 5 and 6, as these concerns often begin to emerge during this developmental stage.
